TOP 5 WAYS TO STAY MOTIVATED ON YOUR FITNESS JOURNEY
1. Set a goal of how many days per week you want to work out or be active. Currently, my goal is 4x per week. Having a number in mind each week helps you decide which days will work better with your schedule. Plus, if you miss a day you can make it up later.
2. Do what you enjoy. I love strength training so that keeps me motivated and I look forward to the workouts. When you do what you actually enjoy you will be more likely to stick with it (i.e. swimming, biking, running, yoga, ect).
3.Reward yourself. Yes, I said it. Even adults like to be rewarded. Let’s face it if our jobs didn’t pay us we likely wouldn’t keep showing up (especially on Mondays).
4. Be a part of a community. When we see others making progress it inspires us to keep going too. You can join a virtual or social media community and most gyms offer them too.
5. Remember it’s a lifestyle. It’s not a 30 day diet or juice cleanse. There are going to be ups and downs but just stay the course and give yourself grace when needed. Beating yourself up & comparing your journey to someone else’s does not motivate you.
